Individual Health Insurance Provided By Our Agency

Most Americans get health insurance from their employer. However, individual health insurance is a way to get coverage if you're not qualified for an employer-sponsored plan or if your company's plan is too expensive or limited.

What is Individual Health insurance?

Individual health insurance is protection you buy on your own, either for yourself or your family, as opposed to receiving it from your employer or a government-run program like Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP.

What does Individual Health Insurance cover?

Some common examples of the types of conditions that are covered:
  • Outpatient care, including doctor's visits.
  • Pregnancy and maternity care.
  • Mental health and substance abuse treatment.
  • Prescription drugs.
  • Emergency room visits.
  • Hospitalizations.
  • Services and devices for recovery after an injury.
  • Mental health and substance abuse treatment.
  • Lab tests.
  • Pregnancy and maternity care.
  • Prescription drugs.
  • Pediatric services, including dental and vision care for kids.
  • Prescription drugs.

Talk to us to find out if your plan covers these conditions.

What determines the cost of Individual Health Insurance

For a particular health insurance plan, the cost of coverage is determined by certain factors that have been set by law like
  • Age: The cost of medical care for each person covered by a policy is determined by that person's age, with costs rising as they age. For children under the age of 14, adding them to a health plan will be free, but once they become 15, the annual premium will be increased.
  • Your location: Based on the state and county you reside in, health insurance providers choose which policies to offer and how much to charge for coverage. In Florida, this means that a resident in Miami-Dade County may pay less for the same policy than a person in Jackson County.
  • Smoking and tobacco: Although the state sets the maximum increase, your health insurance costs might increase by as much as 50% if you smoke.
  • The number of insured: The entire cost of a health plan is determined by the number of persons it covers, as well as the age and potential cigarette usage of each individual. A family of three, consisting of two adults and a child, would, for instance, pay a substantially greater monthly premium for health insurance than an individual.

When comparing individual policies, look at what each policy covers in addition to monthly rates and fees. Already have Individual Health Insurance? Switching is easy

It might be time to switch insurers whenever the service that your existing insurer provides doesn’t meet your needs. For example, if you have a poor claims experience or an unexplained rate increase, it might be time to consider other options

If you cancel a previous policy before a new policy is effective, you could run into some serious financial problems.
